Mystery...
There is no worship where there is no mystery...
The book "The Unnecessary Pastor" has some great quotes that really help us view the mystery of God in a fresh way. Here are a few of them:
"The mystery to which Paul gave witness is not the mystery of darkness that must be dispelled but the mystery of light that may be entered. It is not something we don't know but something that is too much to know" (pg. 68)
Gabriel Marcel distinguished between approaching life as a problem and entering it as a mystery...
"Mystery is not the absence of meaning, but the presence of more meaning than we can comprehend" (pg. 69)
The beautiful "life book" of Scripture is so much more than simply an answer book to all our problems - rather it is the doorway into the world of God's mystery.
