It's Not About Me...
This summer our church council (primary leadership team) is praying and fasting around Isaiah 58. Once again, scripture makes it clear that it's not all about me (I seem to need a lot of reminders)! Our worship, our fasting, and how we live our lives for Christ needs to have tangible expressions of how we administer justice, treat our employees, care for our families, feed the hungry, etc... or it's just empty pious activity.
We are called to live "counter-culturally" as a people of God. One of the most significant ways we can do that is to simply (not that it's easy) stop living for ourselves. May God wake up the church to realize... "it's not about me"!
