WELCOME HERE!
We are so excited that you decided to visit us online today! As you browse through our website, you will see that we are striving to be a covenant community pursuing the life-changing power of Jesus Christ
and sharing his Good News from the river to the ends of the earth.
We invite you to join us at one of our upcoming weekend services where we passionately worship God and study His Word. We pray that as you arrive at our church, you feel loved and are challenged to grow in your walk with Him. We look forward to meeting you!
WHAT TO EXPECT ON SUNDAYS
As you arrive at our facility, you will be welcomed at the main door by a greeter – who will help you find where you are going. The people serving at our Welcome Centre in the main lobby will also be happy to answer any questions you might have.
If you have children with you, our GroveKids team (wearing bright Green shirts!) will be happy to explain our children’s programming options to you. For information about our children’s ministries, please visit our GroveKids page .
Our Sunday corporate worship services are typically 60 minutes long. People wear what they are comfortable in – which means some people dress quite casually and others dress more formal.
We have chosen to implement a “celebration – revelation – response” model during our worship services. We start our service celebrating, (often through singing) the resurrection of Jesus, then one of our staff spends some time teaching from the Bible (revelation), which usually lasts about 20 minutes. We conclude with a time of response as a community to what was revealed in the teaching of Scripture.
After this teaching, we enter into a time of response to what God has revealed in the teaching of Scripture. We recognize that many people respond during times of song, but there are other important responses as well. We see silence, spoken prayer, the taking of communion, art, creative media, tactile activities, encouraging each other and even giving of our finances as ways we respond to God.
Our desire at Forest Grove Attridge is to become passionate and authentic worshipers of Jesus. Even though our primary worship language includes contemporary music, we also want to reach out beyond our preferences and learn how to worship in ways beyond what might be most familiar to us.
We hope you are able to join us on a Sunday morning, as we study scripture and worship together.
STEPS TO GO DEEPER
Our desire at Forest Grove Community Church is to come alongside you as you grow deeper in your relationship with Jesus Christ. If you have not entered into a personal relationship with Jesus, we would love to meet with you and speak to you about this exciting journey. Please call the church office at 306.933.2266, and one of our staff would love to speak with you.
Starting Point
If you are new to Forest Grove Community Church, Starting Point is a 10-15 minute gathering following the morning service where we can tell you a little bit about who we are, and you can ask any questions you have about our community. Starting Point usually occurs the last Sunday of the month.
Small Groups
At Forest Grove Community Church we are intentional about building relationships and sharing the love of God with our city. Small Groups are a great way to build relationships in a casual setting. Many people find our “4 Week Small Groups“ a great way to get connected for the first time. As the name implies, the commitment is only for four weeks.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
Are you wondering about serving and where you fit in the church? Serving in one of our ministry areas is a great way to meet new people and build the body of Christ. Here are some common questions people often have in this area:
- Is there a place to serve (volunteer) that matches my gifts, passions, abilities, personality and experiences?
- I’d like to serve, but I don’t know where the needs are?
- I’d like to serve but I’m not sure what my “spiritual gifts” are? Actually…I’m not entirely sure what spiritual gifts are?
- Do I even have anything to offer? (many people often feel inadequate)
One of the best ways to begin this journey is to just start serving! Find a ministry area that interests you, or has a need, and dive in. Serving will give you a way to discover and test what fulfills you, what you are good at, and also what drains you or what you are not as good at. As you are serving, others will begin to see and affirm things in you that will help you in this journey.
