Leadership Transition

Hello Forest Grove Church at Attridge, Broadway and North Site

Our church has been incredibly blessed to have Bruce’s strong, caring apostolic leadership – he is the only lead pastor many of us have known. Bruce and Lisa have faithfully served here for more than two decades. 

That’s why I am sad to announce that Bruce and Lisa have discerned that their call to Forest Grove Community Church has come to an end and he has resigned. While it may come as surprise to many of you, they have been processing and discerning this with council for a few seasons. While we are grieving now, we also feel much peace about the decision. We honour and bless them as they enter the next phase of their journey.

As we process this historic moment, it’s also a reminder that all of us are part of something greater. Forest Grove is God’s church. God has been faithful to us and we know He will continue to lead and guide.  

Together we will continue to listen to God’s spirit, pursue our vision of transformation in Jesus and keep trust in God who is faithful.

1 Corinthians 3:5-10

“After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God’s servants through whom you believe the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It’s not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What’s important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one who waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God’s workers. And you are God’s field. You are God’s building. Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful.”
