Below is a Story of Transformation from Dallin Nickel who became a member of FGCC and was baptized in the river on September 3rd.

From the moment I was born, the path to Christianity has always been available for me and on Sept 13, 2002 I chose to walk that path. Through being raised in a home where both my grandpas were pastors and my parents met at bible camp there has never been a time when my questions would go unanswered. I was given the ability to go to various bible camps and youth groups to associate with other believers my age.

For the majority of my life, my spiritual journey was all about what I could do to benefit myself whether it was praying or going to church or reading my bible. Any spiritual knowledge I gathered was for my personal connection with God.

When high school came around however, I realized all this information I had gathered over the years was not just for my own personal walk; it was arming myself for the rest of my life.  As it says in Ephesians 6:11,

“Put on the full armor of God so you can stand against the devil’s schemes.”

I began working at camp and putting myself in a place where I was now the one answering the questions. Friends started asking what was different about me and how they could get whatever it was I had. I must say that one of the hardest experiences I’ve had to endure was when someone came to me desperately searching for God and then turned away just a few months later.

I am thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given to have a family who loves me and walks with me through my spiritual journey. I am looking to complete the important step of being baptized to further my relationship with God.
