SOAR Saskatchewan is a discipleship and mission training program run by Multiply (the mission and church-planting organization in the Mennonite Brethren denomination).
The core values of SOAR are to GROW, KNOW, & GO. To GROW in intimacy with God, to KNOW God’s heart for the world, and to GO and join in God’s mission.
It happens here in Saskatoon during the February school break. Teams from around Saskatchewan learn and worship together and then go out into the city to to serve at local organizations.
Teams can participate in SOAR in two ways. They can attend the full 10 day program or attend SOAR X, the first several days of the program.
Throughout their time on SOAR, participants will spend time engaging in a learning tour, visiting different agencies aiding the most vulnerable in Saskatoon, a day focused on prayer, and some time to experience church in different ways as a team. They’ll spend Monday running a community carnival for Family Day and spend a day (or more) serving within an organization in the vulnerable sector in Saskatoon. In the past our SOAR teams have partnered with organizations like The Bridge on 20th, The Lighthouse, The Friendship Inn, and Central Haven Senior’s Care Home.
